We visited 44 Mills Kitchen & Tap today around 3–4 PM and had a mixed experience overall. The food itself was pretty solid. The lavender lemonade cocktail was genuinely delicious, although my husband tried two different drinks and unfortunately didn’t enjoy either of them. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, our toddler loved the fries (but refused the chicken tenders), and both the short rib sandwich and burger felt like good quality meals. Our server was kind, attentive, and did a great job throughout the visit. Where things fell short for us was mainly the seating experience and overall value. When we arrived, there was an open booth behind the hostess stand that we asked about sitting in. The hostess checked and explained it was reserved, which we understood. However, shortly after we were seated, another booth opened up as well, and both booths remained empty for the majority of our meal. One wasn’t filled until we were nearly done eating, and the other was still empty when we left. First time here. We heard it was a little pricey but our granddaughter wanted to go, so we went. It's located in the Afton Target plaza. Parking can be a little tight right in front, but there is available parking all around. It's a nice place inside, great place to take that special someone. The lighting is a little on the dim side. This place is obvously more upscale then most brunch places. I went with the Chicken & Waffles, my wife chose the Caesar Salad, our granddaughter selected the Salmon Wrap & Fries and her boyfriend had the Breakfast Tacos & the Pimento Ragoons. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was great. My only complaint would be for the few customers they had (2:30 in the afternoon), it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive. However, everything was hot, so really can't complain. Give it a try. It was a little pricey, $132.00 for the 4 of us with no alcoholic beverages.

If you’re looking for a great dining experience in Concord, NC, 44 Mills Kitchen and Tap absolutely delivers. The atmosphere is top-notch — low lighting that really sets the mood, giving it a relaxed but upscale vibe. Even on a busy Friday night, the energy felt lively and fun. It did get a little noisy at times, but that’s expected with a full house and groups out enjoying themselves. The food was amazing, and the menu is impressively diverse with options for everyone, including meat lovers and vegetarian-friendly choices. I had the grilled chicken with vegetables and mashed potatoes, and everything was cooked perfectly with great flavor. We also ordered a few appetizers, and the standouts were definitely the Rangoons and the mac and cheese — both were incredible and worth trying. The drinks were a highlight as well. I had the smoked Old Fashioned and the Strawberry Smash, and both were expertly crafted and packed with flavor. If you’re into cocktails, this is definitely a spot to check out. Came here for brunch and was not disappointed! Service was quick and efficient, even with it being a holiday! Not to mention it was easy to get a reservation a few days prior. The bloody mary was perfectly spiced and had great presentation (not featured the tater tots that were skewered on the drink). The french toast espresso martini was a bit sweet, but it comes with the name! Breakfast tacos were great, but we truly enjoyed the steak and eggs! The steak was a perfect medium rare and the Chimichurri was perfectly seasoned. Only thing that was interesting was the side waffle being so small. Recommend for brunch or a quick bite to eat!

On my recent visit to North Carolina, my friends took me to 44. Wow!!! I was totally impressed. The food was absolutely divine. The portion size was perfect. I was so full, I couldn't even pull myself from the table. The service was outstanding. Clearly, southern hospitality at its best. And finally my drink, well I should have had a second.
